Did you take the  Foodbank Lent Challenge 2016?

Lucy did!

She and her family took part and found out just how tough it can be on the other side of the voucher.  In her own words:

"Sorry, I failed to get a photo of last night's meal - we were all so hungry got got wolfed down! We had a can of chickpeas, patak's curry sauce and some rice. I have to admit, I cheated and added onions, garlic, spices and some broccoli that I already had in the fridge. Ben said this was his favourite meal as did Jim (who took the leftovers to work today). We are all relieved to be at the end of the challenge. I missed all the fresh fruit and veg and the snacky/nibbly things, the boys missed toast and yoghurts and never want to see UHT milk again and I think Jim missed the portion sizes! Talking about it last night we all agreed we would in future think carefully about what we put in the foodbank box rather than throwing something in as an afterthought. We agreed that items that lift your spirits like jam or nutella or a good quality sauce/soup are very important. Thanks for the opportunity to take part!"

We're all amazingly grateful to everyone who joined us for the Challenge, and helped us raise more than £450!

Many of those who took part commented that it had given them a new perspective on the Foodbank and our activities, and that they would spread the word among families and friends, which is just fantastic to hear - we couldn't do what we do without you!
